Stensrud<\/p>\n<p>Professor of Meteorology,\u00a0The Pennsylvania State University<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-103\" src=\"http:\/\/10.197.12.230\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Stensrud-215x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"180\" height=\"251\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ucadre.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Stensrud-215x300.jpg 215w, http:\/\/ucadre.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Stensrud.jpg 232w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 180px) 100vw, 180px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Dr. David Stensrud has been a Professor of Meteorology in the Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science at The Pennsylvania State University since 2014.\u00a0 He started his career at the NOAA\/National Severe Storms Laboratory where he explored the benefits of short-range ensemble forecasting for severe weather prediction and was the inaugural manager of the NOAA Warn-on-Forecast program.\u00a0 He currently studies the assimilation of dual-polarization radar and satellite observations into convection-allowing model ensembles.\u00a0 Stensrud received his BA in Mathematics and Meteorology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his MS and PhD in Meteorology from The Pennsylvania State University.\u00a0 Dr. Stensrud is a member of the multi-university Consortium for Advanced Data Assimilation Research and Education (CADRE).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Principal Investigator: David J.
